ISMC MEPhI held an open lecture by Alessandro Golkar on "Methodology of the project approach in the educational process: opportunities and prospects»

On the 10th of June 10, an open lecture by Alessandro Golkar on "Methodology of the project approach in the educational process: opportunities and prospects" was held, organized jointly with the Russian branch of the International Council of system engineers INCOSE RUS.

The moderators of the lecture were Alexander Shamanin, expert of the Department of educational programs JSC EC "ASE", senior lecturer of MEPhI, director of relations with universities INCOSE RUS and Artem Zharov, deputy head of the International center for public diplomacy of IIR MEPhI.

The event was attended by more than 300 participants from different regions of the Russian Federation and representatives of Universities of Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. The topic of the lecture aroused lively interest among the audience.

Alessandro Golkar (Ph. D. in Aeronautics and Astronautics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Associate Professor (Tenured) at the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, Moscow, Visiting Professor at the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, Barcelona) in his speech considered flexible project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum), which have found popularity among software developers, application features and differences from the traditional project management methodologies (Waterfall, "staged gate"). At the end of the lecture, the speaker answered questions about his participation in major projects, as well as the possibilities of applying project management in education.

Alexander Shamanin noted that the methodology of project management can be applied in the educational process. In his opinion, this will reduce the load on the teacher and increase the flexibility of the educational process. At the end of the webinar, Alexander Shamanin announced a new online professional development program of the ISMC MEPhI "Project approach in the activity of a teacher".
